About me

For me, it all started on a sunny day when I was 8 years old. My dad decided to retire from his second life (job) as a Forest Ranger for the State or Florida. Dad came home and said that he was going to retire in one year and sell our 40-acre self-sustaining farm in Labelle Fl. So, on May 1st, 1987, we sold the farm and went to Miami to buy a 35 ft sailing Catamaran and moved onboard. I was 9 years old I became a lover of sailing and all things water related. in 1989 we left for the islands and never looked back! I built my first Opti at age 11 under the guidance of the designer of the boat, Mr. Clark Mills. The boat took 2 weeks to build, and Mr. Mills came back down to Marathon FL when it was complete. He personally measured the boat in order to ensure that it was class legal!
Fast forward to today, and I have done 2 transatlantic ocean crossings, spent years sailing the Caribbean and up and down the east coast, gulf coast and all over on the 20 plus boats I have owned ranging from 28 feet to 45 feet. Twenty years ago, I became interested in youth development sailing. Two programs later, I have acquired getting my LVL3 coaching certification, Powerboat instructor certification, and many more certifications and endorsements. I have a passion for dinghy sailing and youth development.
And here we are now!
